Reverend Father OSWALD BERNARD FIRTH,​ OMI who was living out his retirement at Marian Grove in Kohuwala,​ was summoned to everlasting rest in 19 June 2023. His mortal remains will be brought to De Mazenod House,​ Colombo 15,​ today (19 June) around 7.30 p.m. and laid to Rest there until 4.30 p.m. tomorrow,​ 20 June 2023. It will then be brought to Centre for Society and Religion (CSR) at 5.00 p.m. and laid to rest there until 7.30 a.m. the following day,​ Wednesday,​ 21 June 2023. From 8.30 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. the mortal remains of Fr. Firth will be kept at Caritas Sri Lanka - SEDEC,​ No. 133,​ Kynsey Road,​ Colombo 08. It will then be brought to St. Joseph’s Church,​ Uyana,​ Moratuwa at 11.30 a.m. The Funeral Service will start at 2.30 p.m.,​ 21 June 2023,​ followed by the Burial at St. Joseph’s Church Cemetery in Uyana,​ Moratuwa.
