MRS. MARY MAGDALINE ARIYANAYAGAM. Born: in 21st May 1939 (Puloly) Called to Rest: 4th May 2023 (Colombo) Mary Magdaline Ariyanayagam,​ passed away peacefully on 4th May 2023,​ aged 83. Loving daughter of the late Anthonypillai Philips (Headmaster of St Theresa’s School,​ Kilinochchi) and Francesca Muthamma. Loving daughter-in-law of the late Bastiampillai and Ganamuthu and beloved wife of Bastiampillai Joachimpillai Ariyanayagam. Mother of Bastian Jude Ariyanayagam,​ Philips Joseph Ariyanayagam and Mary Jothini Ariyanayagam,​ mother-in-law of Assumpta,​ Nirosha and Pathmarooban. Loving and caring grandmother of Anastasia Jeevani,​ Andrew Jeevan,​ Melani,​ Jeslin,​ Anushiyaa and baby Pathmarooban. Beloved sister of the late David Anthony (Ponrasa),​ George Mariathas,​ Fr Emmanuel Jesuthasan,​ Mary Grace Christina .(Thangamany),​ Soosaithasan (Sellam),​ Christopher (Palar),​ Mary Anne Elsie (Rukku),​ Calista Williams (Kanmany) and Benjamin (Thangaras). Survived by John (Navam) and Joseph (Thevathas). Loving sister-in-law of the late Rosemary Antony,​ Celine Marathas,​ Williams,​ late Emelda Soosaithasan (Rani),​ Elizabeth Christopher (Baby),​ Thomas Antony,​ Miriam Philips,​ Vathy Thevathas and Reeni Philips. Beloved aunty of Jude Joseph Antony (Rasa) Claudia Antony (Ramani),​ Lourdes Bernadette Antony (Roja),​ John Francis Antony (Rajan) ,​ Sandra Maristhas,​ Joe Luxman Antony,​ Evangeline Yogala Antony,​ Caroline Pamela Antony,​ Eileen Shamila Antony,​ Philips Damian Antony,​ Noeline Niranjala Antony,​ Nimalraj Philips,​ Edwin Christopher,​ Nihanth Joseph,​ Emil Sujeevan,​ Raymond Philips,​ Thiona Philips,​ Natasha Williams and Alvin Thavathas. Remains lie at A.F Raymond’s Funeral Parlour on Monday 8th May from 4 p.m. onwards. Cortege leaves the parlour on Tuesday 9th May at 3.30 p.m for cremation at General Cemetery,​ Borella at 4 p.m. ( old Crematorium ).027278
