Beloved husband of Shirani (Ex - UNDP),​ dearly loved father of Sanjeeva & Shenal,​ father-in-law of Kalum & Malika,​ precious grandfather of Shenuk & Shenaya,​ son of late Calvin & Irene de Mel,​ son-in-law of late Willie & Esme Fernando. The burial took place on 18th January 2022 at St. Peter’s Church Koralawella,​ Moratuwa.
