FERNANDO - PLACIDA FERNANDO (LINDAMULAGE PLACIDA THECKLA FERNANDO née DE SILVA) (former Lecturer - Catholic Training College,​ Bolawalana and former Teacher - Good Shepherd Convent,​ Kotahena) relict of Clive. M. Fernando (ex Lake House),​ cherished mother of Kusum Athukorala,​ Devsiri and Pavithri,​ beloved mother-in-law of Priyani,​ adored grandmother of Janeen and Yolani,​ sister of late Freda (ex Training College,​ Bolawalana),​ sister-in-law of Ingrid (Australia) and of the late Lucian & Terry,​ Rachel & Eddie,​ Clare & Ivor,​ Tilly & Wanige,​ Maureen,​ Sol and Denzil,​ affectionate care giver of canines Sherry and Ginny,​ passed away peacefully on 8th January 2022 at the age of 99. A private funeral will take place today with service at 5.00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church,​ Mattakkuliya and followed by interment at Madampitiya Cemetery at 5.30 p.m. Remains will be available for viewing today at the Barney Raymond’s Parlour from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. 7,​ St. Mary’s Lane,​ Mattakkuliya,​ Colombo 15.002140

GUNASIRI - CHITRA (nee MANAWADU) - Beloved wife of late N.D. Gunasiri,​ loving mother of Harshana and Darshana,​ mother-in-law of Thanuja and Shenali,​ grandmother of Chanumi,​ Ishan and Nethumi,​ passed away on 8th January 2022. Remains lie at Jayaratne Restpect Parlour on Monday,​ 10th January 2022 (8.30 a.m. onwards). Cremation will take place at 4.30 p.m. at the General Cemetery,​ Borella (New Crematorium).
