Son of the late Francis and Mildred Ponnamperuma of Kaluwella,​ Galle. Beloved husband of Anjalee,​ loving father of Angela and Anarkalee,​ dear brother of the late Zelma,​ Placidus,​ Rohini,​ Ruvan,​ Sunalini and of Swineetha,​ Ranjanee and Mirani.
