Beloved husband of Darshini,​ son of the late Sam and Ada Paranavitana,​ beloved brother of the late Joy,​ Frank,​ Ananda,​ Lakshmi and Hilda,​ loving father of Manique,​ Romesh,​ and Samantha,​ father-in-law of Simon,​ Nikki and Subo,​ loving grandfather of Anjali,​ Rhian,​ Nihara,​ Nadira,​ Zahn,​ Jehaan and Kaja,​ and great grandfather of Millicent and Miles. Raymond Paranavitana returned to his heavenly father’s open arms on 20 October 2020.
